Despite his own production he turned to curating other artists since 1987.His experience as curator began at the Centre pour l'image contemporaine (CIC) with the progamm of the International Video Week, one of the first video festivals in Switzerland and Europe. This festival has shown videos from Bill Viola, Gary Hill and many other famous video artists. Then he created and managed "version1.0", the first edition of what became the biennial "Version" that he ran until he left the Center in 2004. Simon Lamunière designed and curated the website of the documenta X directed by Catherine David, in Kassel in 1997 and contributes to the creation of the Museum of Modern Art (Mudam) website in Luxembourg with Claude Closky, Jean-Charles Massera and Benjamin Weil, the former curator of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.Since its creation in 2000, Lamunière was the curator of Art|Unlimited, the monumental works section of Art Basel. Then, he has been the project manager of Neons within the City Contemporary Art Fund (FMAC) and the Canton Contemporary Art Fund (FCAC) of Geneva. Located on the largest public place of Geneva, this site-specific art project invited swiss and international artists to create luminous artworks for building roofs in the same way as advertising signs are placed on the Geneva lakeside. Nine luminous art pieces are now visible : those of Jerôme Leuba, Sylvie Fleury, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Christian Jankowski, Sislej Xhafa, Nic Hess, Pierre Bismuth, Ann Veronica Janssens, and Christian Robert-Tissot. In 2009, Simon Lamunière is the Director of Utopics, the 11th « swiss exhibition of sculptures » between september and november in Biel/Bienne in the canton of Bern. This event gather about fifty artists, micronations and association into a large "in situ" exhibition. Between 2000 and 2011, he is the curator of Art|Unlimited, the section for monumental art pieces of Art Basel, a famous international Artfair. Since 2012, he is working with Thomas Hug at the Artgeneve Salon .".
