- The_Allegory_of_Good_and_Bad_Government abstract "The Allegory of Good and Bad Government is a series of frescoes painted by Ambrogio Lorenzetti from around February 26, 1338 to May 29, 1339. The frescoes are painted in the Renaissance style, but with a Medieval touch to it. The paintings are located in the Sala dei Nove (Salon of Nine or Council Room) in the Palazzo Pubblico (or Town Hall) of the city of Siena, Italy. The series consists of six different scenes: Allegory of Good Government, Allegory of Bad Government, Effects of Bad Government in the City, Effects of Good Government in the City and Effects of Good Government in the Country. Today we see these frescos as depicting the Effects of Good Government and Bad Government, but in the age in which they were painted they were thought to represent war and peace, and were named accordingly. Most scholars still refer to the rooms by these categories, but for the sake of continuity the frescos will be addressed by the accepted names of The Effects of Good Government and The Effects of Bad Government within this article.".
