Speakers have included William Bell, the mayor of Birmingham, Bob Riley, governor of Alabama, John Johns, president and CEO of Protective Life Corporation, Hatton Smith, president and CEO of Royal Cup Coffee and Kate Nielsen, president of The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham.The club holds a number of social and networking events, including monthly happy hours, and promotes a "Service Above Self" Rotarian concept. In 2005, Rotaract chose literacy as a focus and targeted second grade reading comprehension.".
