- The_Wise_Princess abstract ""The Wise Princess” is a British literary fairy tale about a princess who knows everything, except for true happiness. The tale was written in the second half of the nineteenth century by Mary de Morgan (1850-1907), a children’s writer with a feminist flare. The tale first appeared in “The Tale of Princess Fiorimonde and Other Stories” along with six other tales, published by Macmillian and Co. in 1886. The fairy tales were not very popular at the time, although society accredited De Morgan as a revolutionary writer who was ahead of her time.".
