- Ueberschall abstract "Ueberschall is a German based sound sampling company.Founded in 1987, Ueberschall releases both multi-format sampling libraries and proprietary, software-based audio sample players which operate within both hardware and software samplers and Digital Audio Workstations (DAW). The quality of their audio samples range from standard quality—16 bit, 4800kHz, to high quality—24 bit 9600kHz, and are recorded as licensed original works by professional musicians under contract to, or employed by, Ueberschall GMBH and then relicensed to the purchaser. Thus, sound samples from their sound libraries and proprietary software, as used by music producers, are guaranteed 100% copyright cleared for professional use. Since 2001 Ueberschall has concentrated on virtual loop libraries, as well as software-based virtual instrument plug-ins based upon the Virtual Studio Technology standards known as VST 2.0 and the more recent VST 3.0. Ueberschall's audio sample libraries are compatible with any system capable of reproducing at least one of the product-supplied sound sample formats, such as WAV, REX, AIF, while their proprietary software-based loop and sample players, using Ueberschall's own proprietary audio format, are compatible with any professional or semi-professional Digital Audio Workstation systems that support the VST 2.0 or 3.0 standard.Ueberschall and Celemony (the makers of Melodyne) created the Liquid Instrument Series, which uses a proprietary sample file format for audio reproduction, while also allowing those same files to be rendered within the program to convert them to a standard WAV format if desired. Their second player, called Elastik, focuses on loop based libraries and different dance music styles and also uses a proprietary sample file format similar to the Liquid Instrument Series that can be rendered within the program to produce standard WAV files.".
