It provides many services to families and children such as: special education and training, outpatient care, learning assistance center, and community programs for early intervention and youth services. They assist people of all ages and communities from small to large. Vista Hill opened up Vista Hill Hospital as well, which is the “first private free-standing psychiatric hospital (Vista Hill, 2009).” In 1971, they began a program for autistic children called Los Ninos Education Center. It is now referred to as Sam and Rose Stein Education Centers. Vista Hill continues to try to meet the needs of the people in their community by providing services that support their further growth and development. One of their new programs beginning July 1, 2009 is called Incredible Families. This program will provide parents with parenting classes based on the Incredible Years, a curriculum by Carolyn Webster-Stratton, M.S.N., M.P.H., Ph.D., Professor and Director of the Parenting Clinic at the University of Washington. It will also provide individual therapy to children who are receiving welfare services. They have a program for homeless pregnant mothers also which helps them get off to a new start in their life (Vista Hill, 2009).".
