- Yelloway_Motor_Services abstract "Yelloway Motor Services Ltd, often shortened to just Yelloway, was a coach company that was based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. It operated from 1932 to 1988, and only ever bought British manufactured coaches, predominantly the AEC Reliance. Until 1932 the company was known as Holt Brothers. It was a very popular coach company in the North West, running scheduled coach services to the South West, East Anglia, North Wales and the North West, particularly Blackpool and Fleetwood. The manager of the company was Hubert Allen. The main office, bus station and maintenance garage were situated on Weir Street, Rochdale. After deregulation in 1986, and following the retirement of Hubert Allen, the company moved into providing local bus services in Greater Manchester, and was acquired by ATL Holdings. However, following a string of maintenance difficulties, the contracts were cancelled in 1988. On November 24, 1988, the company was wound up and its assets were transferred to Crosville Motor Services.A Yelloway mobile museum, housed in a former Yelloway coach, was formed in 2002 by enthusiast David Haddock. It is now owned by Paul Blackburn and is based at the Bury Transport Museum. In 2008 Courtesy Coaches bought the rights to the Yelloway name, and currently use it on a fleet of 15 coaches. In 2008 they won a contract to provide transport for the Rochdale Hornets rugby team.".
