He was inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame in Emporia, Kansas in 2012.His creative teaching strategies earned him a Disney Award in 2004. He is also endorsed to teach Physics and Physical Education.He attended Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, IL and graduated in 1975. He graduated 83rd out of 875, played baseball and wrestled, was a member of the Model United Nations, Parallax (literary magazine), and The National Honor Society.Mr. Lid got his BS degree at Elmhurst College in 1979. He double majored in PE and Biology. Graduating with highest honors, received the DeBruine award in Biology, was vice president of the Biology Honorary Tri Beta, member of Omnicron Delta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi.He then went on for an MA degree at Concordia University in secondary school administration, 1985.Glenn has coached freshmen football for two years, freshmen wrestling for his entire career, baseball his entire career (head coach since 1991), golf for 4 years (currently). The baseball team was regional and sectional champions in 2003. He was nominated twice as assistant coach of the year by the Illinois Wrestling and Coaches Association in 1990 and 1992.He was also a finalist in Illinois both in 1993 and 2009 for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Math and Science.In 2010 Mr. Lid’s students interviewed a survivor from the nuclear bomb explosion in Hiroshima,".
