- WMAS-FM abstract "WMAS-FM (94.7 FM) is an Adult Contemporary music formatted radio station licensed to Enfield, Connecticut. In the late 1960s WMAS-FM was an "underground" radio station. Advertising revenue came from the hippie boutiques, head shops, concert venues, and music stores that catered to the counter-cultural youth of the day. This format ended in September 1969 after complaints were made about expletives in a Wild Man Fischer song. A protest movement, in part organized by the DJs, failed to save the format. From 1971-1973, the station programmed Progressive Rock, as WHVY followed by adult contemporary programing. From 1978-1979, it programmed Disco music then returned to the adult contemporary format. While focusing on the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts in its marketing and imaging, the station is easily heard and has listenership in northern Connecticut as well. The station is owned by Cumulus Media, and its slogan is "94-7 WMAS, Your Official At Work Station." Its sister station is WHLL CBS Sports 1450 The Hall, licensed to Springfield (and which formerly shared the WMAS callsign with WMAS-FM). The current line-up of 94.7 WMAS radio personalities is:Chris Kellogg/The Kellogg Krew Morning Show Dina McMahon/The Kellogg Krew Morning Show Lopez/The Kellogg Krew Morning Show Lopez and Drew Hastings/Middays Brett Provo/Afternoons Drew Hastings/Evenings Mark Harris/ Overnights and Weekends Robyn Lee/ Weekends Val Turco/ Weekends Bob Kaine/ WeekendsThe Station GM is Craig Swimm, the Program Director is Jim Raimo, the Production Director is Brett Provo, and the Promotions Director is Lucie Grondin.".
