He engaged in the manufacture of bolts, nuts, and rivets in Port Chester, New York.Ward served as chairman of the Republican State committee for several years. He was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1897-March 3, 1899).After his term ended, Ward resumed his former manufacturing pursuits in Port Chester. He served as member of the Republican National Committee 1904-1912.Ward died in New York City, July 16, 1933. He was interred in the family mausoleum in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, New York.".
