Levi Lincoln, former governor of Massachusetts, concerning smuggling. Also includes a U.S. government bond book, 1791, with the names of New Yorkers who loaned money to the American government during the revolution; and a U.S. Treasury Dept. letter book, 1861, containing letters from the U.S. Treasury Dept. to banks, insurance companies and individuals in New England regarding government loans, and receipts from the Treasurer of the Associated Banks in Boston to the U.S. Treasury Dept. for payments on the public debt.".
