- catalog abstract "Two small account books kept by members of the Pearson family, of Newbury and Rowley, Mass., who conducted fulling, grist and saw mills on the Mill River from 1643 into the 19th century. The first volume contains fulling mill entries, 1684-1695, of John, Sr. (died 1693), and his sons, John, Jeremiah and Steven, showing yards of cloth fulled, with payment in cash and product. In the second volume the earliest entries (1714-1720) were made by John Pearson, son of Jeremiah, then in Stonington, Ct. a carpenter and cabinetmaker. Returning to Newbury, he inherited his father's mill. These entries pertain chiefly to a saw and grist mill. John was succeeded by his son, Silas, whose accounts continue to 1799, with saw and grist mill entries, accounts with the town of Newbury for the poor, and a committee for the selection of a new pastor.".
