He had a private medical practice in Waltham, Mass. where he founded the Waltham Training School for Nurses and the Waltham Baby Hospital. He was chairman of the Massachusetts Commission on Maternity Benefits in 1920 and a member of the Obstetrical Society of Boston. Worcester served as trustee of the Massachusetts Hospital for Consumptives, 1897-1901, and he was one of the first surgeons to operate for appendicitis.".
