Walter Thompson (1915-1920), she later edited and wrote for the Delineator (1920-1923), Charm (1923-1925), and You (1936-1941), and was a freelance writer for Condé Nast publications (1941-1960). With Ruth Hawthorne, she wrote a play, The Queen Bee (1929). She edited and tried unsuccessfully to publish the memoirs of Black World War I hero, Eugene J. Bullard. She married author and screenwriter Richard Connell in 1919.".
