Roosevelt in the course of her treatment. The family lived in Michigan, New York, and Vermont before moving in 1910 to Boston where Fred Retan worked for the Home Life Insurance Company, and was later a general insurance broker. Before her marriage, Iretta Hight Retan taught school in Hawaii.".
