Bandmaster and composer Edwin Franko Goldman was born January 1, 1878 in Louisville, Kentucky and died February 21, 1956 in New York. He was the son of Selma Franko (Sam and Nahan's sister) and her first cousin David Henry Goldman, who was a fine amateur violinist. Edwin Franko Goldman's son, Richard Franko Goldman, was born on December 7, 1910 in New York and died January 19, 1980 in Baltimore. He was a bandmaster, composer, educator, music critic and writer.".
