- 01HQJS9JWHV4KFVDK9MM4GJ82A abstract "To conceptualize visual impairment in an existential, experiential, and relational way; we could ask: what does it mean to be partially sighted or blind? Visual impairment forms the constitution of ways of being in the world, ways of thinking and feeling. Which place the person and their social environment give the visual impairment in their daily lives can be discussed. Living with a visual impairment can be mapped in terms of the intra-actions between an individual’s assemblages and partially sightedness or blindness. We would like to conceptualize visual impairment in the context of threesome visually impaired people and their assemblages in an attempt to understand the contextualized and complex meaning of the disability. We are qualitatively interviewing about experiencing the (person who lives with) visual impairment. The presentation will show some glimpses of the first analysis of the data. Theoretical concepts will be plugged in into moments of intensity told by the participants. We would like to rethink traditional conceptualizations of visual impairment, by looking relationally, situationally, nuanced to multiplicity in continuous processes of becoming.
