- aggregation title "The effect of grain and phase boundary misorientation on nucleation during solid-state phase transformations in a Co-15Fe alloy".
- aggregation abstract "The nucleation process strongly influences the phase transformation kinetics that determine the final microstructure and thereby the mechanical properties of the material. The role of grain and phase boundary misorientations during the solid-state nucleation of a BCC phase in a FCC phase has been investigated. 3D EBSD measurements were performed on a Co-15Fe alloy with both the FCC and BCC phases stable at room temperature in order to measure the crystallographic orientation of the BCC precipitates and FCC grains and the orientation relationship between the FCC and BCC crystallites. In this paper the preliminary results from the analysis of the data show that specific orientation relationships between BCC and FCC crystal structures play an important role during this process.".
