- aggregation title "Van vazen tot naakten: glazen kunstobjecten als resultaat van de samenwerking tussen industrieel Georges Despret en kunstenaar Yvonne Serruys (ca. 1905-1910)".
- aggregation abstract "Between c.1905 and 1910 the Franco-Belgian sculptress Yvonne Serruys (Menen, 1873 - Paris, 1953) designed models for some 300 decorative art objects to be executed in glass or glass paste in the factory of Georges Despret (1862-1952) in the northern French town of Jeumont. Although many of these objects have been lost, Serruys is acknowledged as one of the most productive contemporary artists to have collaborated with Despret – one of the pioneers of the pâte de verre process. Her work for Despret – mainly vases, bowls and figurines – was influenced by the Art Nouveau style and greatly in demand during the Belle Epoque. Various pieces quickly found their way into international art glass collections. Nonetheless, few pieces can now be found, many of her designs have not yet been identified as such, and little is yet known of this early part of her work. This paper pays attention to the place of the designs for Despret in Yvonne Serruys’s sculptural oeuvre, the glass paste process and Despret’s glass factory, the collaboration between the industrial Despret and artists of his time, and the characteristics of Serruys’s objects in glass and glass paste.".
