- aggregation title "General remarks on the effectiveness of earned value schedule control".
- aggregation abstract "In spite of the advancements made in the Earned Schedule addition to Earned Value Management practice, strong coherence between the schedule performance indicators and the real ‘activity-level‘ performance of a project is often lacking. A structured approach will be presented to provide each project with a tailored solution, inspired on process control charts, as one would frequently encounter in manufacturing and services. A short revision of the procedures, presented at the previous EVM Europe conferences, will be accompanied with a new technique: differential Earned Value. It is proven that differential calculations, on EV/ES during the execution of a project, improve the quality of the decision-making process. Small scale examples provide the intuitive explanation, as a simulation experiment illustrates the potential for project control. To conclude, we will present the results of a large-scale simulation study on control strategies using Earned Value/Earned Schedule, allowing us to draw general remarks on the overall effectiveness of such strategies.".
