- aggregation title "A multidimensional framework of organizational capacity and organizational ambition for professionalization of sports clubs".
- aggregation abstract "This research identifies types of sports clubs based on the dimensions organizational capacity and organizational ambition. These dimensions offer a richer insight into the ability and motivation of sports clubs to fulfill their mission. Eight organizational capacity and eight organizational ambition subdimensions were identified based on Hall et al.‟s (2003) multidimensional framework: accommodation, board, coaches, volunteers, youth, management, finances and external orientation. Data obtained from a sample of 1015 Flemish sports clubs was analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, revealing four types of sports clubs which are labeled “ambition”, “capable”, “youth”, and “accommodation deficiency”. Results also revealed that size of the sports club and legal structure mattered. The findings support the use of a multidimensional framework based on the dimensions organizational capacity and organizational ambition. Adding the ambition dimensions expands existing literature on organizational capacity and change in a sports context.".
