- aggregation title "Climate impact on and thermal fracture in double skin glass façades".
- aggregation abstract "High-rise office buildings are often designed with double skin glass façades. In this research, a three dimensional finite element simulation is executed, to investigate the problem of thermal fracture of glass in these double skin façades. The focus hereby lies on stress initiated by thermal loads. Software packages Voltra [6] and Abaqus [7] are used for the creation and calculation of 3D simulation models. First the reliability level of the calculation method according to the French Norm is verified [1]. Subsequently, the influence of a series of parameters that affect the magnitude of thermal stresses in the glass panes of double skin façades is investigated. As a result, an optimal design of these façades can be made.".
