The aircraft was carrying one pilot and ten passengers. Eight people died in the accident. Three people on board the aircraft survived the accident by jumping from the aircraft as it fell; one of the survivors was the pilot.According to the survivors, the aircraft had been at an altitude of about four kilometres, when its nose suddenly turned downwards and the pilot lost control of the aircraft. According to accident investigators, the aircraft had problems in control over the upward and downward movement, but the reasons for this are yet unknown. The aircraft's wing broke during the dive, but according to technical investigation, the wings and the rudder were still attached to the aircraft when it hit the ground.The aircraft was a Comp Air 8 turboprop aircraft. The aircraft had been built by aviation enthusiasts and was the only one of its kind in Finland. The permit for its building was granted in 2005 and the permit for aviation was granted in August 2009.".
