- Allied_Deals_Inc. abstract "Allied Deals Inc. was a company specializing in brokering trades in non-ferrous metals that perpetrated one of the biggest bank frauds in history. The company (along with affiliates Hampton Lane, Inc., SAI Commodity Inc. and RBG Resources Plc) operated a ponzi scheme in the U.S. and the U.K. that bilked about 20 banks out of $683 million. Victims included J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Fleet National Bank, PNC Bank, N.A., KBC Bank, N.V., Hypo Vereins Bank, N.A., Dresdner Bank Lateinamerika AG, China Trust Bank, and General Bank. Allied was controlled by brothers Narendra Rastogi and Virendra Rastogi, and based in Piscataway, N.J. The Rastogi family started trading metals in India in the 1950s, and was listed in the London Sunday Times Rich List in 2002. Allied established hundreds of sham companies to purportedly purchase the metals, and created forged documents and fake credit histories, and impersonated the purported buyers to the banks. The scheme collapsed in 2002. Fifteen people were arrested in the U.S., with nine pleading guilty, five being convicted in court, and one being acquitted. Two defendants in the U.S. are still at large. Three people in the U.K. were convicted.http://aaahq.org/AM2008/display.cfm?Filename=SubID_1925.pdf&MIMEType=application%2Fpdf".
