- Balghar abstract "Balghar is a village in Ghanche, Northern Areas, Pakistan on the bank of the Shyok River. The Shyok River meets the Indus river at Keris about 30 kilometers west of Balghar. The Thallay stream divides Balghar in two parts. The bigger part is also referred to as Chogo Balghar which consists of ten large and small mahallahs and the smaller part called Choo Fuog, which consists of four mahallahs. The population of Balghar is about 5,000. Balghar is a tourist destination in the summer. Balghar Ranga which is situated in Gond is a very beautiful place which consists of a very wide plain. Other famous people of balghar are Trangpa Amin balghari, Trangpa hassan (late), Abdul Karim Balghari,(former director of agriculture) Muhammad Amin (former Assistant Co missioner) Dr gulzar, and Dr Muhammad hussain. Balghar plays an important role in the Pakistan Army, as it gave many martyrs in Kargil War. Abdul Qadir shaheed retrieved tamgha-e-jurat in 1999 Kargil War. some resources also said, he was eligible for the Nishan-e-Haider, which is Pakistan's highest military award.".
