- Civil_Position abstract "Civil Position (Ukrainian: Політична партія „Громадянська позиція“) is a political party in Ukraine registered in March 2005 (as Mighty Ukraine (Ukrainian: Політична партія "Могутня Україна"); it was named that till 2010). The party did not participate in any parliamentary elections. It is led by former Minister of Defence of Ukraine Anatoliy Hrytsenko.During the 2010 Ukrainian local elections the party's results were infinitesimal. Civil Position gained one seat in the Ternopil city council during the 2010 Ukrainian local elections.In August 2011, the party announced it will merge with European Party of Ukraine. In December 2011, UDAR of Vitaliy Klychko and Civil Position announced they were negotiating a unification. However, in June 2012, the party announced it will compete on one single party list with other opposition parties during the 2012 parliamentary election.In a December 2011 poll by Rating, the party scored 2.3%; and in May 2012, 2.4%.The party competed on one single party under "umbrella" party Batkivschyna, together with several other parties, during the 2012 parliamentary elections During the election, this list won 62 seats (25.55% of the votes) under the proportional party-list system and another 39 by winning 39 simple-majority constituencies; a total of 101 seats in Parliament. The party itself had competed in 1 constituency where it lost. Party leader Hrytsenko was elected into parliament as 3rd on the electoral list of Batkivschyna. When several of the other parties that had competed under "umbrella" Batkivschyna in the 2012 parliamentary elections merged into Batkivschyna in June 2013 the party did not merge with them and kept its independence. Hrytsenko left the Batkivschyna faction on 14 January 2014. On 17 January 2014 he submitted a letter of resignation to parliament.".
