She is presently a member of the Human History Gallery Advisory Group of the Royal Alberta Museum. She received many honours for her work in promoting francophone rights and community visibility. In addition, she received the Order of Canada, the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and the Alberta Centennial Medal.In the 2008 federal election, Ms. Roy was the federal Liberal candidate in Edmonton-Strathcona, due to a close fight between NDP candidate Linda Duncan and Conservative candidate Rahim Jaffer, Ms. Roy's electoral results were very disappointing.".
