The foundation's mission is to promote cross-cultural understanding through journalism, music, and innovative communications. The event was preceded by a talk by Daniel's widow, Mariane. The 2007 Film Collection raised money for Seeds of Peace, whose stated aim is "to empower young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence".
