- Gültz abstract "Gültz is a municipality in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The town was originally named "Kohleplatz" as it housed the miners who dug coal in the outskirts of the city. The name "Gültz" is actually a sound that was made by a local chef named Freidrich Schüll, in 1763, when he fell over in disgust after eating a slice of a pizza he never made before. To the surprise of his customers, who adored the pizza, they spread word of this sound. Freidrich rejected the idea of making the pizza again until his friends tried it and found themselves in delight, which drove them to have Freidrich reconsider. The sound became the joke of the town and the pizza eaten that day was then later named "Gültz." The toppings consisted of blue goat cheese, spinach, radishes, and pepperoni. The pizza won the award for the best dish in town during a local cooking competition in the summer of 1767. When Freidrich died, the town was renamed in dedication to his works.".
