• Harvey_Gold abstract "Harvey Gold, born (1952-10-12) October 12, 1952 in Akron, Ohio, USA, is an American guitarist, bassist, and keyboardist for the avant-rock/New Wave band Tin Huey. When the band members first went their separate ways in 1982, he also became a film and video producer. In 1986, he started his own production company, Gold Teleproductions, which he currently co-owns and operates with partner Dan Epstein, located in Soho, New York. Included among the projects he's produced, specials for Nickelodeon, series and specials for Comedy Central and A&E is, for Comedy Central the television series, 2 Drink Minimum, the house band including a couple of his bandmates from Tin Huey, Chris Butler (musician) (as music director) and Ralph Carney. In 2003, starting with a "Ralph Carney and Friends" gig in Cleveland (with Black Keys opening for them), Harvey's involvement with various Tin Huey configurations started up again for a brief period, seeing the Hueys playing multiple gigs in NE Ohio and the NY/NJ area, including a gig headlining at the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame. Moving on, he's appeared with his spin-off bands, Half Cleveland with Chris, and Harvey in the Hall, whose members include himself on the guitar, keyboard and vocals, the Hueys' and Unit 5's 'Bongo' Bob Ethington on drums, Chi-Pig's Deborah Smith on bass and vocals, and Bruce Hensal as producer. Other guests/unofficial members, include The Byrds' and Flying Burrito Brothers' Chris Hillman, the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, and Dolli; another band of his operating in the H in the H sphere, Mr. Ray Violet, includes himself on guitar, bass, digital sounds, loops and vocals, Tin Huey's Michael Aylward on guitar, harmonica and vocals, and in the case of "Lemon Beasley," David Stephenson. Michael and Harvey, have done some recording and performances at art galleries as "Huey's Swing Club," an art-improve project.In 2010, Harvey recorded a piano track for Sally Spring's latest offering, "Stars" and completed a mini-tour (playing bass) with Sally in March of '11, playing at "Not SXSW" in Austin, and other venues due east, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans. This was followed up by a Spring 2012 European Tour billed as "Sally Spring and the Folk/Country Blue Boys" (Ted Lyons, Sally's husband, guitarist, drummer, producer, and Harvey) centered around three appearances at F.I.M.U, the annual music festival held in Belfort, France. This ended up being 14 shows in 22 days on the ground in Europe.Harvey also contributed a track for R. Stevie Moore's Tribute Box Set, a recording of Stevie's "Human Race," everything recorded, as a nod to Mr. Moore's diy King status, on a Boss Stomp Box looper.".
