- High_School_Musicale abstract "Patrick Evans and Joseph Myers are the DJ and production duo most notable for producing covers of the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical in late 2005 and early 2006 under the alias of High School Musicale. Both are from Chelmsford and currently reside in London. Although their label Bilson Records is now defunct, they still continue to DJ across Europe and produce hits for clubs. Both Evans and Myers began their career as DJs since the late 1990s playing at mostly underground parties and events in the south of England. Both have been friends since their early childhood and to this day remain good friends. In 2001, the duo decided to open up "Bilson Records" (under the aliases of Williams and Wilson) as an independent dance label. According to their MySpace page (now defunct); the duo released an electro-house single called "High Temper" by 2002 under the alias of Bilson Power. They began to gain notoriety in the European dance scene when their single, "High Temper" was released throughout Europe and Asia. Although the single didn't chart, the duo released several bootleg remixes of artists such as BT, Stonebridge and Moby. During this time, it is believed that the duo met producer Sammy Manuels from New York City, who had close ties with the A&R at Interscope Records. The duo is believed to have continued DJing during this time in Tokyo, New York City and Los Angeles respectively. While on vacation in Los Angeles in 2005, the duo got the chance to take a tour of Walt Disney Studios courtesy of Manuel's counterpart. According to both Evans and Myers, it was here where they got the idea to cover several songs from High School Musical as they were in the process of mastering it for the Soundtrack. On their return to London, the duo managed to obtain a bootlegged copy of the song "Get 'Cha Head In The Game" that was airing on Disney Channel in the United States. The hook from the song was used for the making of the first release of the High School Musicale project. "In The Game" was released in December 2005 in Europe and in the United States in 2006 under Bilson Records in Europe and Megatone Records, a local dance label out of Los Angeles, CA. Two more singles followed in February 2006 with the release of "Something New" and "To The Top" (sampling the movie's soundtrack respectively.)The duo came under fire when the producers of the original High School Musical discovered the single "In The Game" used the vocals of Efron and Seeley without any credit. Hollywood Records threatened to sue the duo in May 2006, however an agreement was concluded in private the following month. The agreement allowed the duo to release the single "In The Game" under Bilson Records in Europe but the US release would be under Hollywood Records label pulling the Megatone Records release off the shelves within a matter of months. The High School Musicale project continued for two more releases with "Fabulous" and "Prom Date" all released by January 2007.After the settlement was reached, all singles, excluding those originally written by Myers and Evans themselves, had to be released as DJ promo material. Since DJ Promos are released without profit to those who created it, Bilson Records went bankrupt in 2008. All High School Musicale projects were handed off to Hollywood Records while the original projects were released on the web by means of their MySpace page. The project stated that no more new projects were in the works in June 2007. The MySpace page went offline in 2008 marking an end to the High School Musicale project. As of 2010, Evans and Myers are still avid DJs in the London area playing at several clubs in the area. A flier from late 2009, had the duo scheduled to open for Calvin Harris, however, this was not confirmed.".
