- Katy_Perry_discography abstract "The discography of singer Katy Perry consists of four studio albums, one live album, one extended play (EP), seventeen singles as a solo artist, as well as four as a featured artist, and four promotional singles. Katy Perry has sold 49,897,000 digital singles and 4,333,000 albums in the United States as of August 2013. Perry is also the best selling digital singles artist in US according to RIAA. As of October 2013, Perry had sold roughly over 11 million albums and 81 million singles worldwide and her singles are some of the best-selling worldwide, and she currently holds the record for most 5-million-sellers singles in the United States, with 5 of her singles reaching the achievement (in order of release date: "Hot n Cold", "California Gurls", "Firework", "E.T.", and "Roar").At age 16, she released a self-titled gospel album in February 2001 under her real name Katy Hudson, which failed to chart in any music market. She recorded an album with producer Glen Ballard that was scheduled to be released on August 18, 2005, but ended up being cancelled. Perry's second album, One of the Boys, was released in June 2008. One of the Boys was preceded by the number-one single "I Kissed a Girl" in late April 2008. The album debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200, later being certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). "Hot n Cold" was released as the next single that September and also became a global success. Both "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n Cold" were certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA. Throughout 2009 and 2010, Perry was featured on two singles. The first was on Colorado-based band 3OH!3's song "Starstrukk", and the second was a collaboration with Timbaland on "If We Ever Meet Again", from his album Shock Value II. Both singles reached the top ten in Australia, Ireland, and the UK. Perry also performed for MTV Unplugged and a live album of the performance was released in November 2009.Perry's third studio album Teenage Dream was released in August 2010 and debuted at number one in the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. It was preceded by the number-one singles "California Gurls" (which features rapper Snoop Dogg) and "Teenage Dream", and also produced the number-one singles "Firework", "E.T." (featuring rapper Kanye West) and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)". With Teenage Dream, Perry became the first woman and only the second artist next to Michael Jackson to attain five number-one singles in the United States from one album. The album was re-released in March 2012 and was preceded by the number-one single "Part of Me". Her fourth studio album Prism was released in October 2013. The album was preceded by the number-one single "Roar" and "Unconditionally". In the UK, "Roar" became one of the fastest-selling singles, selling over 600,000 copies within a month of its release and has since been certified platinum. Prism became an international success, debuting at number one in a number of countries including Australia, Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom, and the United States. The album also produced the hit single "Dark Horse".".
