- Marlatt_Hall abstract "Marlatt Hall was the only all-male residence hall at Kansas State University, United States. Starting with the 2009-2010 academic year, Marlatt became a coed residence hall which includes the honors program cluster floor (2nd floor), an Architecture cluster floor, and an Engineering cluster floor. Marlatt has a capacity to house 612 men and women in a variety of suite and standard room options. It is located on the West side of Kansas State's Manhattan, Kansas campus in the Kramer Complex. The other buildings in that complex are the Kramer Dining Center and Goodnow Hall. A distinguishing feature of this complex is that all buildings in this complex are made of brick, unlike the majority of buildings at K-State which are fronted with limestone.Marlatt contains a high concentration of Engineering and Architecture majors due to its location on campus. Marlatt is well known for being the most efficient of the residence halls at Kansas State University. In the summer of 2007, the first floor lobby and main desk area were remodeled, along with new furniture for all the Marlatt lobbies. Also during the 2007 summer, new furniture was placed in the basement and on floors one through three in the residents rooms. During the summer of 2008, floors 4, 5, and 6 received new furniture in the rooms. During the summer of 2009, Marlatt received new windows on floors 3 through 6. Marlatt Hall has seen a lot of additional changes over the course of the 2009-2010 school year. These changes include: updating the weight room, basement lobby, laundry room, basement hallway, and TV room with new paint and carpet. The biggest change of the 2009-2010 school year was the complete remodel of the kitchen in the building...Marlatt Hall now proudly owns the newest and most up-to-date kitchen on K-State's campus. During the 2010-2011 school year, Marlatt Hall is getting brand new elevators as well as a main desk area remodel. Marlatt Hall features a computer, television, and exercise rooms each in their respective areas of the hall. An interesting feature of Marlatt was that until the spring of 2010 Marlatt was one of only two Kansas State Residence Halls containing a dark room, the other being Moore Hall.".
