Jebb and Cheek revised the genus in two major monographs: "A skeletal revision of Nepenthes (Nepenthaceae)" (1997) and "Nepenthaceae" (2001). Jebb also authored the 1991 monograph "An account of Nepenthes in New Guinea".".
