- Merseyside_Economic_Review abstract "The Merseyside Economic Review is an annual document examining the state of the Merseyside economy. It uses a variety of Government statistics to examine changes in the local area. Key sections look at employment, unemployment, gross value added, and population. It is produced by the local regeneration organisation The Mersey Partnership. It has two main aims: to advise local practitioners on the strengths and weaknesses of the Merseyside economy, and to inform people from outside the region on the changes happening locally, many of whom may have an unnecessarily negative view of Liverpool and its hinterland. As a result, two documents are produced: a full colour summary and a larger main report. It was first released in 2003. Every year, a keynote speaker is invited to the launch to speak to local practitioners. Previous speakers include The Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt, who was Secretary of State for Trade and Industry at the time, and Rachel Lomax, who is the Deputy Governor of the Bank of England.".
