The company had been founded in 1925 by William Morris, later Lord Nuffield, as The Morris Oxford Press, at the former military college in Cowley to produce the periodical Morris Owner. It was later bought by Robert Maxwell but sold in 2000 to a management buy out. At its peak the Nuffield Press used more than 1,000 tons of paper a year producing literature, manuals, magazines, diaries and posters. At the time the company went into receivership around 67 people were employed and had a turnover of £6.7 million according to Print Week magazine.".
