In 1833, the book was revised and expanded by Philadelphia architect John Haviland, who re-published it as An Improved and Enlarged Edition of Biddle's Young Carpenter's Assistant.Biddle was elected to the Carpenter's Company in 1800. He is also notable as the designer in 1803 of the Arch Street Friends Meeting House, which is still in use today.".
