- Parcevall_Hall abstract "Parcevall Hall (also known as Parceval Hall) and its gardens are located near the village of Appletreewick in Wharfedale, North Yorkshire, England. It comprises a manor house and landscaped gardens. It is currently owned by the Diocese of Bradford and is used as a retreat house and conference centre. The building is now a Grade II* listed building. The gardens are open to the public from April to October.The gardens comprise 24 acres (97,000 m2) of displays, featuring trees and shrubs and herbaceous borders. It is the largest and the only Royal Horticultural Society and English Heritage registered garden open to the public in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.The gardens were created from 1927 onwards but began falling into decline after the death of Sir William Milner, 8th Baronet of Nun-Appleton, in 1960. In the mid 1980s, the process of restoration of the gardens began, which 25 years later have resulted in the gardens returning to their former glory.".
