- Parhar abstract "The Parhar are jatts and rajputs found in the Punjab province of Pakistan, and Sikh Rajputs/Sikh Jats in the Punjab state of India. One of the high castes from warrior clans of Rajputs. Well known for their contribution in the battles of Nirmohgarh and Basali and in the last battle of Anandpur sahib. Many parhars were involved in khalistan movement during the period of 1980s to 1990s. Parhar surname is very rare even among the rajputs which suggests they are from a royal ancestory, probably migrated from a central asian country like Tajikistan.Basically their origins are from the Black Sea region where the Aryan race has two mass migrations around 3000 years ago, to the north (Germans, Scandanavians etc) and to the south (Iran, Afghans,Northern India regions etc). In the late 17th and early 18th centuries, during the time of Guru Gobind Singh, some of the Hindu Rajputs from Punjab Doaba region, and States of Himachal Pardesh and Rajasthan adopted a Sikh religion and joined the force of Guru Gobind Singh to fight against cruelty. One of the famous Hindu Rajputs who became the follower of Guru Gobind Singh was Sardar Banda Singh Bahadur, a fearless Hindu Rajput from Rajauri, J&K, India.".
