Most of the square is in Westminster, but the eastern side is in Camden.The square is one of the largest private squares in London. It is dominated by plane trees, originally planted in 1817 to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Also of interest is a tulip tree, Liriodendron tulipifera. An unusual and original feature in the garden is the "Nursemaids' Tunnel", an early example of an underpass, linking the square with Park Crescent.".
