- Porter_County_Conference abstract "The Porter County Conference (PCC) is an athletic conference made up of eight Indiana high schools. Five of the eight schools are within Porter County, Indiana. Of the remaining schools, two are in LaPorte County and one in Lake County. The PCC was formed in 1958, consisting of eight Porter County high schools: Boone Grove, Hebron, Jackson Township, Liberty Township, Morgan Township, Kouts, Washington Township, and Wheeler. Jackson Township and Liberty Township left the PCC following the 1968–1969 school year after consolidating with Chesterton High School. Hanover Central joined the PCC for the school year of 1972–1973. For the 1975–1976 school year, La Crosse and Westville joined the PCC. Westville left the PCC after the 1997–1998 school year for the Northland Athletic Conference (now defunct). Wheeler left after the 2002–2003 school year for the Lake Athletic Conference (now defunct); South Central joined the PCC for the 2003–2004 school year in Wheeler's place. Hanover Central announced in 2012 that it will leave the PCC in to join the Greater South Shore Conference. The PCC subsequently voted to end Hanover Central's membership effective summer 2013, and has since voted to readmit Westville, currently an independent, in Hanover Central's place. Most PCC members are in Class A, the smallest enrollment class, and only two (Boone Grove and South Central) offer football. South Central participates in the Greater South Shore Conference in football only; Boone Grove is currently an independent in football, but will also participate in the Greater South Shore Conference in football only starting either in 2014 or 2015.".
