Early in his career he was recognised for his theatre acting in Delhi.He has done theatre in delhi from 2005 to 2008.He was also selected in top ten finalist in Delhi audition of zee cinestars ki khoj in 2008.He then moved to Mumbai in 2008 and there he played a small role in one ad of 2008 Indian Premier League.After that he got many small roles in serials and played all the roles with sincerity and his acting was appreciated by audience.In 2012 he played a role of assistant of a director in a TV serial Sasuraal Genda Phool.In 2013 Sanjeev Jaiswal got opportunity to play lead role in RGV movie "The Attacks Of 26/11".After auditioning 500 applicants, RGV finally found an actor Sanjeev Jaiswal to play Ajmal Kasab, the prime accused terrorist in the 26/11 attack on Mumbai.Movie released on 1st march and the acting of Sanjeev Jaiswal was appreciated by audience and media both. In a press conference Sanjeev Jaiswalsaid his biggest challenge was that people shouldn't feel he bagged the role just because he resembled the terrorist. Talking about the response to the film, Jaiswal said that people were liking him but hating his character. As a character, people are hating it but liking me as an actor. They are appreciating my work. While watching the movie, they are abusing me, throwing chappals (slippers) on the screen. So, as an actor that is a compliment for me. He further added that it’s important for an actor to convince his audience with his acting skills, rather than the way he looks. He also confessed that he also hate Kasab as much as the whole of India. But for him, it was only like I have to just act,Sanjeev said at a press conference on 6th march 2013 in Mumbai.".
