- Silsangsa abstract "Silsangsa Temple(in Hangul:실상사, in Hanja:實相寺) is a temple of Jogye order located in Namwon of North Jeolla Province in South Korea. The temple is the branch of Geumsan temple in Iksan. Although the temple is situated in Namwon by administrative organization, it is also quite near to Hamyang county of South Gyeongsang Province. It is exceptional since this temple is around the calm field different from most Korean temples in mountains.It is said that the temple was constructed by the great monk Jeunggak(called Hongchuck) in the era of Heungdeok of Silla, coming back from Tang China. Since King himself showed deep faith and devoted himself with crown prince in this temple, the place became highly celebrated to make up of the school of Silsang based on zen buddhist. Silsangsa is the first built temple among Nine mountain schools.The temple faced falling period in Joseon Dynasty when the structures were fired in certain time. From this point, the temple was shut time while three times of restoration were occurred during the era of Sukjong of Joseon, Sunjo of Joseon and Gojong of the Korean Empire. However, the grand scale of temple could never be come back.Korean War harmed partial area of temple since punitive forces were going through armed conflicts with partisans but most of cultural relics remain calm.".
