- Swaraj abstract "Swaraj (Hindi: swa- "self", raj "rule") can mean generally self-governance or "self-rule", and was used synonymous with "home-rule" by Mahatma Gandhi but the word usually refers to Gandhi's concept for Indian independence from foreign domination.
