During World War I, Wilson served with the Ballistics Unit of the Army's Ordinance Department; in World War II she was an actuary for the Social Security Board in Washington, D.C. Wilson was the first woman selected to be a delegate to the International Congress of Actuaries (1927). An expert on health insurance, she vigorously opposed nationally financed health care on grounds of economic feasibility and quality of service. She wrote several articles and a book, Compulsory Health Insurance, about this subject.".
