- catalog description "Architecture became one of the programs of study in the Lawrence Scientific School in 1893; in 1895 it formed a department within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS). In 1901, the School of Landscape Architecture was created under FAS. Architecture and landscape architecture were made graduate programs in the newly established Graduate School of Applied Science. In 1912, these departments were organized as separate schools under the new Graduate Schools of Applied Science. A 1914 agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology resulted in the establishment of a separate Faculty of Architecture that included the Schools of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. In 1929, a School of City Planning was created as a unit under the Faculty of Architecture. The Graduate School of Design was organized in 1936, with departments in architecture, landscape architecture, and regional planning.".
