- catalog description "The Harvard Engineering School was established with its own faculty in 1918, offering both graduate and undergraduate instruction. The Graduate and Undergraduate Schools of Engineering were created in 1932 although after 1935 undergraduate engineering students were registered in the College. In 1946, this became the Division of Engineering Sciences and Applied Physics. The Graduate School of Engineering merged with FAS in 1949; the Division of Engineering Sciences was created, comprising the Dept. of Engineering and the Dept. of Engineering Sciences and Applied Physics. The Division changed its name in 1951 to Applied Science, and the two departments were dissolved. In 1955 it was renamed the Division of Engineering and Applied Physics, and in 1977 became the Division of Applied Sciences.".
