It was developed during two years of rehearsals at the New York University School of the Arts and in performances at Brecht West, New Brunswick, New Jersey, Syracuse University, The Loft Theater in New York City, and Harvard University's Loeb Drama Center. The play opened in New York at the Extension on October 5, 1970, and has subsequently been performed at the Holland, Spoleto, Shiraz, Berlin, Paris and Edinburgh Festivals and at the Performing Garage in New York. -- The Plastiques / details of an exercise originally developed by Jerzy Grotowski and the Polish Laboratory Theater, and freely interpreted by the Manhattan Project as part of the actor's training.".
