- catalog abstract ""An analysis was made of responses to nearly a thousand bail questionnaires administered to persons arrested as a result of the rioting in Washington, D.C. which occurred from the night of Thursday, April 4th, through Sunday, april 7th, 1968. The analysis has generated a description of the persons arrested in terms of personal, racial, family, residency, education, and employment characteristics. Some subdivisions of the data were also analyzed (e.g., employment status by sex). The study was primarily directed toward providing a descriptive snapshot of the acused rioters through an analysis of data contributed directly by these individuals. There were two central questions: What types of people were arrested and what was their employment experience? Fifty-five variables were developed from the questionnaire items and subjected to analysis. Seventeen critical questions were developed and served as part of the analytical apparatus. Besides the main tabulations for each variable, 55 cross tabulations were made of the responses to probe into the interrelationships of the variables."--Abstract.".
