As president of the Boston Women's Trade Union League, Norwood helped organize retail workers at Jordan Marsh Co. in the 1960's and later served on the Mayor's Advisory Council on the Affairs of the Elderly. She was active in the Zionist labor movement for fifty years and president of a chapter of B'nai B'rith.".
